🐈 Can My Cat Eat Melon?

Melons are one of the few fruits that many cats actively seek out and enjoy. Scientists believe this attraction is due to volatile organic compounds in melon that chemically resemble certain amino acids found in meat — triggering cats' protein-seeking instincts. Cantaloupe, honeydew, and watermelon are all safe options. They're hydrating (90%+ water), low in calories, and provide some vitamins. However, they're also relatively high in sugar for a small animal, so portions should be limited to a few small cubes. Always remove rind (hard to digest, may carry bacteria) and seeds (choking hazard).
