🐈 Can My Cat Eat Cantaloupe?

Cantaloupe is non-toxic and actually quite popular with cats — unlike most fruits. Research suggests that volatile compounds in cantaloupe resemble amino acids found in meat, which explains why obligate carnivores find it appealing. Cantaloupe provides hydration (90% water), beta-carotene, vitamin C, and fiber. Remove all rind (hard to digest and may carry bacteria) and seeds before serving. Due to the sugar content, keep portions small — a few small cubes is plenty. This is a treat, not a dietary staple.

Generally very safe. Too much may cause mild diarrhea from sugar and fiber content.

Cantaloupe is safe. If your cat ate a large amount and has loose stools, reduce the portion next time.
